Getting A Natural Energy Boost

Michael Ventresca • January 18, 2022

Life is busy. All of us need a little energy boost from time to time. While the shelves are packed with energy drinks, most can be summed up with just a few ingredients: isolated caffeine, sugar, and maybe some b-vitamins. While these products can provide a few extra hours of energy, they really don’t do anything to address what’s really going on and worse, can lead to crashes after they wear off. It’s like stopping to add air to your car’s tires every day, without fixing the leak. Do that long enough, and you’re likely to wind up stranded on the side of the road, with a completely flat tire. Bottom line, there’s a better way than drinking an extra cup of coffee or energy drink every day at 3pm.

Now, if you’re simply not getting enough sleep, that should be your top priority. We now know the vital role sleep plays in health, and you don’t want to skip that step. With that said, today I want to discuss some powerful nutrients that can help provide sustained, healthy energy while supporting the body.

Medicinal mushrooms
While they may have unfamiliar names, the medicinal mushrooms cordyceps, reishi and chaga have demonstrated the ability to promote immediate energy and endurance while enhancing respiratory function, adrenal and cardiovascular health. Medicinal mushrooms also provide immune and inflammation support.

Botanicals
Herbs like rhodiola and green tea are also great options for supporting healthy energy. Studies show rhodiola supports strength and stamina, while green tea has a host of beneficial properties including inflammation and metabolism support, as well as being a source of antioxidants. In addition, the naturally occurring caffeine in green tea is in balance with other compounds like the amino acid l-theanine, so you get a balanced sustained energy.

MycoBotanicals Energy from Host Defense combines all of these ingredients into one superior energy support blend. Two capsules each day provide powerful, healthy energy support without the sugar, jitters or crash.

Hydration depends on having the right balance of minerals inside and outside your cells, so water moves where it is needed. Without them, water can pass through the body without fully hydrating the tissues.

For many, allergy season doesn’t begin with sneezing. It starts with sinus pressure, headaches and post-nasal drip. By the time classic allergy symptoms show up, the immune system has often been reacting for weeks.
