Help for Mental Clarity

It has been said the human brain is the most complex structure in the known universe. While I may not be qualified to dispute this, I can say that when I walk room to room looking for my phone only to find it’s in my hand, I’m not sure I feel like my brain is the poster child for all things complex. All joking aside, the mind is an incredibly powerful tool. Unfortunately, for many of us the modern lifestyle with its stress, rushed meals and lack of sleep can make it difficult to feel mentally at your best. For me, this has only become even more apparent as I’ve aged. Today, I’d like to answer the question, ‘What can I do to enhance my mental clarity?’

First, make sure you’re getting enough sleep, seven to nine hours is recommended. Next, get moving. Regular exercise means increased blood flow which means increased oxygen to the brain. Third, consider supplementation.

Nature has provided us with numerous remedies that have been shown to support the brain and nervous system. One of my favorite products is called MycoBotanicals Brain. I really like this product because it combines some time-tested herbs including ginkgo biloba, gotu kola and bacopa with some powerful medicinal mushrooms including Lion’s Mane that have been clinically studied to support cognitive function and reduce the damaging effects of stress. While not a household name, the Lion’s Mane mushroom probably should be. Studies have shown it promotes the growth of neurons, or nerve cells, as well as enhances cognitive function according to a 2009 study

Hydration depends on having the right balance of minerals inside and outside your cells, so water moves where it is needed. Without them, water can pass through the body without fully hydrating the tissues.

For many, allergy season doesn’t begin with sneezing. It starts with sinus pressure, headaches and post-nasal drip. By the time classic allergy symptoms show up, the immune system has often been reacting for weeks.
