Turmeric to naturally combat pain

This is a subtitle for your new post

We’ve all experienced pain.

In fact, it’s the primary reason people seek the advice of health professionals as well as turn to complementary and alternative medicines. Whether acute or chronic, too often the first reaction for those experiencing pain is to reach for pain-reducing medication. Unfortunately, these drugs bring with them a slew of side effects.

The most commonly used medications, the NSAIDs like aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil and Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve) can cause intestinal tract ulcers and other problems.

We’re often asked if there’s a natural option to relieve pain without these side effects. The answer can be found in a spice used for over 2,500 years.

Turmeric has been used for centuries in cooking and healing. One of the main compounds in turmeric is called curcumin. Curcumin has been shown to have a variety of benefits; the most researched of which is as an anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric and its ingredient curcumin provide a great option for those looking to avoid another dose of pain medication. However, there is a down side—not all curcumins are the same. In fact, we know that curcumin is incredibly difficult to absorb. That’s where you separate the effective products from those that are essentially just a cooking spice in a capsule.

There are two curcumin products that use a proprietary process to enhance absorption, leading to dramatically better results—Terry Naturally’s Curamin® and Solgar’s Full Spectrum Curcumin. The Terry Naturally product is a formula that combines a highly effective curcumin with other natural anti-inflammatory compounds, including Boswellia, DLPA and Nattokinase.

Solgar’s product is simply a full-spectrum curcumin with the highest bioavailability to date, at 185 times that of regular powders. Both of these products can offer significant relief.

I hope you stop in to Vital Choice to discuss which option is best for you.

One final note. This column is focusing on products that are primarily turmeric based. To read about my favorite whole-body inflammation modulating formula read lorem ipsum.

For many, allergy season doesn’t begin with sneezing. It starts with sinus pressure, headaches and post-nasal drip. By the time classic allergy symptoms show up, the immune system has often been reacting for weeks.
